Founded in 2025 by Ronke, SATÉ is a shift from the previous brand (Rings & Bands) which launched in 2014 selling natural diamond engagement rings and wedding bands to an underserved market. With a new focus on lab-grown diamonds, SATÉ aims to bring you affordable, high-quality and responsible engagament rings and fine jewelry from the bench of our master craftsmen and women.

What are lab-grown diamonds?

In short, lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds as they have the same composition as a mined diamond. They are grown in a controlled lab setting using two major techniques namely Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT). To the untrained eye, lab-grown diamonds are not distinguishable from naturally occurring diamonds.

Are your diamonds certified?

Yes. All our lab diamonds come with a lab-diamond certification from International Gemological Institute, the foremost globally recognized reputable body that certifies lab-grown diamonds using the same standards as earth-mined diamonds.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. Physically, chemically and visually, lab-grown diamonds are the same as natural. The only difference is that one is grown in the lab and the other is mined.

Are lab-grown diamonds as hard as mined diamonds?

Yes, lab-grown diamonds are physically and chemically identical to mined diamonds and so they are just as hard, measuring 10 on the Mohs hardness scale which is exactly the same as mined diamonds.

Are lab-grown diamonds durable? Do they last?

Yes. Because lab diamonds are chemically identical to mined diamonds, they are very durable, resistant to scratch and will not become dull over time.

Do lab-grown diamonds pass the diamond tester test?

Lab-grown diamonds will pass the diamond tester test as they are physically and chemically identical to a mined diamond.
